Mark TIBBLE
B.A.
• Head of Geomatics and Archaeological
Survey, Archaeology South-East
Research Interests
• Marks main research interests are in the continuing application
of geomatics to record archaeological sites, monuments, landscapes
and historic buildings.
• Mark has worked on a wide range of sites ranging from recording
industrial archaeological sites to barrow complexes on the South
Downs, Sussex. He has also worked abroad at various sites in Italy
with the commercial surveying arm of Southampton University (APSS)
and the Britishs School of Rome.
• Mark has research interests in Romania where he has spent three
seasons surveying at the Roman/Byzantine/Ottoman fort and settlement
of Noviodunum, Isaccea, under the leadership of Dr Kris Lockyear
(UCL), Dr Adrian Popescu (Cambridge) and Mr Tim Sly (University
of Southampton).
• Late Prehistory of Europe (particularly mountainous regions)
with an emphasis upon landscape archaeology.
