Research Interests
• Dental anthropology: including tooth identification and pathology of the surrounding bone. Particular focus on periodontal disease within Egyptian/ Sudanese population and task related tooth wear
• History of health and disease in the Navy and Merchant shipping trade 1700-1850AD
• Geological mapping of the Sussex Coastline
• The ritual and domestic landscape of Bow Hill near Chichester, from palaeolithic to post medieval

Key Projects
West Dean Training Excavations: Organising and directing the field school excavations, including teaching fieldwork skills, guidance on working in commercial archaeology, organising and ensuring the site is excavated correctly within time and funding limits, researching and writing up interim and final reports
The National Trust, Knole House, Sevenoaks: Monitoring the drain replacement scheme with the main building and estate, recording and liaising with the National Trust representatives and interacting with the general public
Whitehawk Hill: Voluntary and outreach work promoting a local site to highlight conservation issues, including arranging media and press coverage
Sittingbourne Northern Relief Road: Open area excavation and watching brief. This included outreach work with the public at weekends presenting artefacts and conducting tours of the site
Woolwich Arsenal: Geotechnical investigation and survey to ascertain the depths of peat deposits on the Thames River flats
Falmer (redevelopment of Sussex University, Falmer Football Stadium and Falmer Sports Academy): Monitored under watching brief conditions, open area excavation and geotechnical investigation throughout the development of the area over several phases of excavation and construction. A sensitive area with high profile paleolithic activity located nearby
